Holi is one of the most visually appealing festivals in India. It is celebrated in our country with different colours and fills the whole country with joy. It is also one of the only festivals when one thinks of being sustainable and often reuse old clothes as they get dirty while playing Holi anyway. But just because you can reuse old clothes doesn't mean it has to be plain and boring. Here is a list of ideas about how you can add a touch of colour and an extra sheen to your reused Holi outfit. Read on to know more.
Get your base ready
An ideal Holi outfit consists of light colours. It is preferable to wear light colours during Holi as colours like, white, light yellow, and off-white makes the other colours sprayed onto you while playing Holi stand out. You could wear darker clothes for practical purposes, but they wouldn't work as good as a canvas for the other colours.
The first step in making a DIY Holi outfit would be to get your base clothing ready. Search your wardrobe for any white or any other light colour clothing that you can reuse and wouldn't mind getting dirty with colours. Once you have found a base clothing for yourself, it is time to get a multicolour set of water colours, a few paintbrushes, a pair of gloves and some old newspaper.
